The new MR Series high voltage Multi-Range DC power supplies
 

The MR series consists of three models, each with 5kW output from a single phase input supply:

• MR25080: Max 250V or 80A within a 5kW power envelope
• MR50040: Max 500V or 40A within a 5kW power envelope
• MR100020: Max 1000V or 20A within a 5kW power envelope

They all share the same 2U rack mount chassis and come with USB, RS232, RS485, GPIB and LXI compliant LAN interfaces as standard.  An analogue control and monitoring interface is also included. All the standard protection features (OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP) are present as is a key-lock function. Built in functions include a list mode with 10 user-defined setups with up to 100 programmable steps each, and a Solar Array Simuilation (SAS) function for storage of up to 101 I-V curves with Voc, Isc, Vmp, Imp, parameters and 4096-point tables. More sophisticated SAS software is available as an option. 

Multiple units can be paralleled to provide additional output power (e.g., up to 50kW from 10 units connected in parallel) with all units controlled from a single PC through RS485. In this scenario, the remote sense terminals are particularly important for assuring the correct voltage at the load.  In addition to the built in web interface which includes simple settings for most parameters, the MR series is supplied with soft panel software for remote control, test sequence generation and data logging.
